Documenting a High-Profile Visit to the U.S. Border
Client: Speaker of the House Mike Johnson
Videography | Photography | Livestreaming | Client Management
Project Overview
In January 2024, I documented Speaker Mike Johnson’s first significant visit to the US Border. My role encompassed video production, photography, livestream management, and the creation of commemorative merchandise for over 50 Congressmen.
Narrative Video
Using my Canon R5 and iPhone 15 Pro Max, I captured key moments of the Speaker’s visit, including interactions with local officials, speeches, and the overall atmosphere of the event. A drone was used to get sweeping aerial views of the border area, including video of people trying to breach the barriers put up by the national guard. The final video was edited using After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro.
Merch
I designed the commemorative logo for the first CoDEL (Congressional Delegation) with Speaker Johnson to the border. These bags were given to every congressman and woman who went on the trip.
Testimonials
I also filmed testimonials for the Congresspeople at Eagle Pass who wanted to post reaction videos for their social media. We filmed 30 videos in total and immediately airdropped or emailed them out so the Congressional offices could post them instantaneously.
